Offical DIY Day at my House

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Okay guys... DIY day at my house is either going to be on January 3rd or January 10th. I will determine the final day right after Christmas so i can get a feel for which day is better for most people. Im in Sussex Country, NJ.

I have 1 garage spot at the moment available to do work in. I might have 2 by the time the DIY comes around. I have a driveway where we can work on 2 or 3 cars with major modifications that require stands etc.

I have a whole bunch of tools necessary for doing almost anything that we need done. Jacks, Stands, Air Tools etc. 80 gallon compressor so we can use multiple air tools at once.

I also have a VAG-COM for anyone that needs some coding modification done such as... Remote Windows, Fogs Only, RNS-E + Bluetooth coding, etc...

I figure after we are all done we can cruise to the local Hooters for some dinner and sight seeing.

If you plan on coming add your name to the list below. Let me know what kind of modifications you want to do and ill confirm we can do it.

If you have any questions send me a PM. I will give you my address through PM or email only.

    Joey

Re: Offical DIY Day at my House

I am kind of new to this sight. I would like to do front pads and rotors(slotted). Oh and some Vag-com for the windows and fogs. I just got my car back from the dealer. They didnt know nothing about doing the fogs and didnt want to the windows. I have a 04 A8. I live in Central Jersey.

Any ideas on exhaust. I like the way the RS4, S6 and S8 sound. It dont have the honda exhaust note that I hate.

jooeeyyy...I'm down for a little diy day lol...I guess we can do the 10th, either day is good for me.

I would like to do some extra vag- com for the fogs only, and have some luminex yellow vinyl that Jason gave to me for the fogs....or maybe by then I'll buy a set of xexon matched fogs and just install those..

I'd like to make it but it's a little too far in advance for my schedule. I'll know when the time gets closer.

I need to do my fogs w/VAG, VAG windows, and probably put in a NAV headunit....oh ya and another other items Santa brings me.

Seems like everyone needs some vag-com work done... i should start charging for this... haha never!

All of the other mods you guys are doing are easily do-able! I think i might do my snub and serpentine belt this day if no other major mods are being done... that should be a good time :)

If you have an A4 i do not believe you need to take the front bumper off... much easier than the s4.

No problems, just thinking of getting one installed. I looked at the telematics forum: seems motorola or parrot would be an inexpensive solution, unlike OEM or RNS-E

I would suggest it. Your A6 should be pre-wired for a phone. You can connect to the speaker on the B pilar on the driver side for sound. As for a mic you should have a slot either in the A pilar or in the dome lighting. Run the microphone to one of those locations and your good to go. Feels stock for a fraction of the price.

Re: Offical DIY Day at my House

Alright guys it looks like its official. Its going to be the 10th of January. Im sure all of you are aware its winter and its going to be a little cold so dress warm! I will have the oven on in the garage so it will be heated.

As far as the mods go we can pretty much do a number of things (Interior, VAG, Exhaust, Etc). However, since its cold out i am going to suggest that we hold off on suspension work for those who are thinking of doing it. Its going to be too cold and time consuming for this. I will have another one in the spring where we can surely take care of it.

After we are all done we will drive to the local Hooters for lunch/dinner.

    Things to remember:

    1. Dress Warm
    2. Bring your mods and parts (if you would like to bring some tools that is fine).
    3. BYOB- For hosting this event i think it would be fair if every of age to purchase a six pack or two to bring for everyone.
    4. Start time- 10 A.M

Any questions please feel free to ask. PM me for my address

I have 12 Bright Individual White LEDS that I bought but don't know what to do with them yet. I hope I can get some ideas when I get there.
