What is the top speed?

How much do chips go for? And do they affect the warranty or would they give me any insurance problems?

Using JUST the published drag figure -- with the 3.2 you'd run out of HP around 179 mph assuming NO drivetrain losses.

Something more realistic like 20% loss to the wheels, the 3.2 might top out around 166 mph. The 2.0T maybe near 157 -- san's chip.

This is just a guess -- lots of assumptions (HP to the wheels and trusting Audi's drag and frontal area numbers, etc). YMMV.

A4's come limited at 130mph.

To the OP, chips typically go between $500-$1000. The three main chip companies websites are www.goapr.com www.revotechnik.com and www.giacusa.com where you will find all the info you need.

And if your dealer finds out you have one installed it will void your warranty as well. Honestly I have no idea why you want to go faster than 130 0_0

The chip would void your warranty if a problem were to arise directly as a result of your chip. To solve this most people buy a stock program with their chip which allows them to turn it back to stock before they take it in to the dealership, when the car is turned back to stock it is very difficult for a dealership to tell that you're chipped.

The idea of a chip is not really to go faster then 130. Most people buy it more for the increase in horsepower and torque.
