Anyone have a preference on a Snub mount?

Looking to throw one in during christmas break. Going to do my serpitine belt while im down there.

    Opinions on yours?

Did it improve the smoothness of shifting, especially 1st to 2nd?

    Thanks guys

Our Stern mount is pretty popular, and inexpensive.

just got my APR snub in, and....HOLY SMOKES. this thing is magic. I can't believe the difference I feel. wayyyy smoother shifting, it's like butter. and I could be wrong but I feel like before when the car shifted there was a "lag". really small, but the engine went before the car did...am I crazy? either way that no longer exists.

I got an APR one still in the bag if you want to buy it from me. I bought it, but left it in Auburn while I was home for the summer. So I ended up just buying another b/c I wanted to have it installed over summer break. Twenty-five shipped? I can take a pic or anything if you want. But yes, it makes a huge difference in shifting. I had a shop install mine, a little over 2 hours if I remember right. However, there is a DIY out there that doesn't involve removing the front bumper, and that should take a little less time.

I haven't seen of or heard of a DIY that doesn't require removing the bumper, but if you come across it, post it up again. Cant let that thing get lost in the annals of this forum...

Oh, ok, I may be confused, I just remember seeing someone using like a rubber mallet to wedge it open enough or something like that, and I thought they used the instructions to remove the grill and did it that way or something of the sort. I haven't seen it in a while, and didn't read it too close since I wasn't really planning on doing it at the time. Thanks for the correction on it though before I got flamed too bad, haha!

on the A4 (at least the B6, maybe B7) you just go under the car, remove the plastic belly cover, then there 3 i think? hexbolts that hold the mount on, once the mount is out, use a rubber mallet to pound the snub on (soapy water helps to get it on), but on the S4 it does'nt look nearly as easy to get the mount out

    S4 needs the bumper removed.

Re: Anyone have a preference on a Snub mount?

It would probably be difficult to have a preference in snub mounts since its unlikely that anyone would ever try more than one brand... Seems like they would all do good, I'm fairly certain everyone uses poly-pro to make it. Get the least expensive one.

I got the Apikol snub from JHM and I love it. Tightens the up and down movement of the motor.
