    Re: quick question

remove the assembly... you'll need a REALLY long torx screw driver.. or extended bit

    total of 3 screws IIRC

$150 to replace a bulb! God Audi is such a rip. No wonder they made these cars so hard to work on, they are getting rich off their service department.

    Re: quick question

we charge so much for a bulb becuase your paying our labor rate. if you cant change a bulb on your own then ya gotta pay to play.4 t30 torx bolts, the 2 on top of the headlight need to come fully out the other 2 - 1 on the back of the headlight and the other on the inside of the headlight just need a couple of turns out not all the way and the headlight slides forward.

best bet its to get a 1/4 drive long 1/4 drive extention and a 1/4 drive t30 bit

That will be $10 to me :) thank you come again

BTW : how did you let a dealer fuck you like that?the bulb at a dealer retail is like $170 or more and then their labor rate so $300 sounds about right. you would of had to authorize the other $700 in work or you dont have to pay for it.

    Re: quick question

You can do it yourself. get the torx bit that is recommended by audiS4man or what ever his username is.

Its real easy to do, you will see the two tabs right on top and the last is down the hole towards back of headlight inside each fender. My recommendation is put extension down and loosen the bolt all the way until its totally lose. Then take a magnet pen and fish it up out of the hole. its way easier. It also helps a lot when you want to fish it back down into the hole.

One more note is techincally it has 4 points of holding the headight to the car, 3 are screws, the 4th is a plastic hook that goes into a hole on the radiator support, or part of the car. Once you have the three bolts out you can wiggle the headlight out by sliding it sideways then out.

Piece of cake, you can do it. Dont waste your money with the dealership.

Once you do it you'll do the otherside in 15-20 minutes. well if you had to that is.
