My 04 A4 1.8T has been acting up lately. It started with a P0171 lean bank 1 code and then would through in some P0300-P0304 codes. I have found and fixed 3 different vac leaks and just replaced my battery today. The car after replacing the battery is much improved but the lean code came back on and the car still misses and hesitates at lower revs. At idle in drive its around 1k-1.2k and in N or P it jumps to around 1.4k-1.5k and you can still feel it missing but not as bad. I couldnt find another leak and I dont have a vag-com. Any ideas before I take it to VW? (Audi is a 2hr trip on way )

sounds like a vacum leak but also maybe check your MAF.

Try pushing the plug back in. This sometimes "resets" the securing tap in the plug. Then try it a few more times. If you're careful, use a small flat head screw driver to insert into the small rectangle and pry the tab up and it should release.

    Re: Need some help plz

Well sometimes it runs better then others. Right after I replaced the battery the car died the first two times I started it up, and on the 3rd time I gave it some gas. Then it settled down and started running ok with a slight miss

LOL, Sorry to hear that. When you break enough of them you'll get the hang of it. I've had my share of broken tabs when I was a tech, I'm just glad they weren’t on my cars
