    High Pitched whining?

    When I rev the engine, there is a high pitched whine that matches the engine reving up then down. I even turned off the fan and it still makes a sound.

    Any ideas what it may mean? I have to take a 4 hour trip and was wondering if it would be a problem.

    power steering, make sure it has fluid
    2000 A4 1.8tq

    Running only on Amsoil fluids.
