I really hope you knew what you were doing. I painted the interior of my Kia and it was good enough for that but had major flaws. it is near impossible to permanently spray-paint something without major sanding and sealing. I followed the graffiti trim and thought that was a great idea. It would have looked great in a B6 that came with the black interior (like mine) . I thought yours was too and got excited. It looks great now I just hope it stays that way. And again props on the graffiti trim.

And your car in general I like the white on black. and still need to know how you got the rear trunk trim piece off to paint it.

uhhhg paint will peel soon enough.. Cleaning it sucks.. You can never get it as nice as stock interior.. I would have just left it alone or bought a car with black already there. Just my 2 cents though...

what makes you think he wants to spend the money on a RS4 steering wheel if he resorted to painting his interior?

It does look a little glossy, but that might be more the pictures than anything else. You got more balls than me. Personally, I would've gone white with a shitload of neons in that ish.

Re: Interior paint done. from ugliest gray to satin black

Congrats on the change! This car looks awesome outside and now the inside is a little sportier! I'm digging the Taco Bell trunk trim as well. I'd still look at slowly converting to all OE black components as the finish will be more natural but it looks like yours came out well. Has the glossiness settled down a bit after curing? It actually reminds me of the finish of the B5 interiors, they always seemed to have a shinier natural finish than the B6 change over.

You guys are throwing a lot of trash his way for doing something himself instead of paying someone else; why?! Using the original black parts WOULD be better but it isn't really cost effective and every other swap I've seen so far painted at least something if not large portions of things inside to match instead of getting the OE parts. For the record, if none of you have noticed, the factory interior components are molded out of plastics similar to their final color but they are then painted with a polymer coating for the final finished color that Audi desired. You can get paint that finishes just like the OE coating but maybe that isn't exactly what he was after anyways.

Did you get some black leather seats to or are you still using the platinum?

Maybe you work very hard on that project but I dont like the finish result. It look like a cheap plastic interior whit a lot of ArmorAll. I think It's very far from the classy and subtle OEM finish and I'm really not sure about the long lasting of that paint. I think you decrease a lot the value of your car and seriously I like much better the way it was before... Can't wait to see that paint peel under the sun... Nice try but not a succes to me.

I think it looks good, but I would definitely buy a black steering wheels and airbag. I am on the lookout for a B6 door panel and I want to dye that with probably a matte black and see how it comes out and holds up to my abuse before I ever paint the rest of my interior.

all this talk about shiny. There is a huge light hitting inside the car because of the damn day light savings took all of my sunlight and i wanted it finished . Whoever said that the gray looked better you sir are on some kind of crack.
The rear seats are going to be changed for black ones with a little subtle of white. the fronts along with the steering wheel will be changed but only with time. sportsters and maybe an rs4 wheel.

After painting one door I didnt even think of buying OEM there was no point to me besides the fumes for a couple of days LOL

Graffiti trim, spray painted interior, and Taco Bell carpet? Call me a hater, but someone needs to take this car out back and shoot it. Completely trashy, I'd rather drive a stock Civic.

Re: Interior almost done. from ugliest gray to satin black

I'm all for orginality, but from experience when spray paint is used it usually equals a bad decision. I would have stuck with the "ugliest gray" because that is not "satin black".

I'm holding judgment until you get some better pictures.

At least you used the proper materials to do the work with, so you have that going for you. It looks like you didn't get very good coverage though and may have a lot of streaks and stripes from poor painting technique.
