Should I make the jump?

I have always been into audi's and the s4 has been my favorite car (within reason) for a long time. I had an a4 and currently drive a 335i which i love, but I have always wanted to go back to audi. I have recently been offered a great deal on an imola b7 s4 avant with only 10k miles (through a close family friend). The only concern I have is that even though I love imola, it is not my first choice and I am not sure if I would get sick of the color. That being said, this is a great opportunity to get the car I have always wanted (love avants too) for a great price (a few k below KBB trade-in) so I do not know if I will have the same opportunity again. This is not a question as to whether or not I should get the s4, but should I make the sacrifice of saving a lot of money and getting a mint condition, no stories car even though it is not the EXACT color I want?

If I were you, since it sounds like you are fiscally responsible and saving etc. I would wait a while, since this is not the exact car color you want...The deals on b6/7 S4's are only going to get sweeter! Wait for 09 to come in, and just wait for the new s4 to be released, that combined with the poor consumer economy will really hit the s4 values hard. Look at how much b6 values have dropped since 2005! Shoot, look at any audi's value..

I think you should save what you have, and maybe next year sometime buy something, or maybe even later. There will be some real deals to be had imo, as this economic situation comes into full force.. Shoot, keep saving and pick up a Rs4 in a year or two.

Please keep in mind that this would be the only s4 I could buy. In my family, we generally lease and the only reason my dad is considering buying this car is because he knows and trusts the person who is selling it (in addition, they will probably get me out o fmy bmw lease early). If this doesnt work out, then I will probably end up leasing another bmw (audis generally do not lease well). I know it sounds dumb, but this would be the only opportunity I have to buy an s4 at a virtually unbeatable price. And i do really like the imola, but for those of you who have it, have you gotten bored of it over time?

for me the Imola is great to look at and i love to see them, but it's just not for me. A lil too flashy for my everyday, but i love that others flaunt it like green gt3's or orange lambos.

in addition to your last post, i usually change cars about every 6-12 months, but i can't see myself ever getting bored of my s4 avant

Honestly from what you have typed, you sound like you 'like' imola or are just ok with it.. However, that's not your first choice. Be honest and ask yourself if you will be happy driving it. If you really 'love it', you would not have asked it here... just my 2 cents...sorry...

I agree with you cell. Imola is not my first color choice, and what i think I have to ask myself is not whether I will like driving it or not (i know i will) but rather whether or not saving a good deal of money is worth getting a color that I like instead of love.

If you tell us how much you are getting it for, maybe we can make a better suggestion for you.

I think that a Imola Avant would look great and you would never get tired of looking at it. I used to have a yellow car and I loved it. Not my first choice of color, but you'll love it nonetheless.

I think it will be for 30k and they would take over my bmw lease for a few months. Again the car is loaded minus nav, i think it is an 07 with 10k miles in MINT condition.

DO IT! We are starting to see some more companies interested in making REAL parts for these cars now. Plus you can never beat the V8 sound.
