Re: Early Christmas Gift - 1870cc (1.9L) Displacement Increase kit

There isn't a lot of info out there about the TDI crank......would an 06a block require any additional machining to account for any clearance issues of the 95.5mm crank?

    Sorry for the thread jack

    Not the 06A block.A 058 block yes...for sure.
The 06A block has alot of room in the crankcase for crankshafts larger than 86.4mm

How would making the engine more of a stroker affect high end RPM's? For instance if you built it to rev to 8.5k all day long?

Once the rod ratio is within the acceptable range (which all crankshafts available are) then you will rev to 8500 rpm's no issues.

Re: Early Christmas Gift - 1870cc (1.9L) Displacement Increase kit

I can get a TDI crank tomorrow for like $50(cheap right...? ), still need to check it out to make sure there isn't any major scoring. What else do i need to look out for, and what all is needed for the use of it in my 058, 06A build...?

He's got the block and some other bits and pieces, anything i should offer money for...?

Oh, almost forgot, if you still have those items in 3 weeks, a friend of mine who will be in the USA can pick them up for me.

From what I've read, I believe you'll need to look for a pre-'98 TDI crankshaft, since the newer ones are a bit longer. I could be wrong....but I read that somewhere last night....I"m still researching so i'm not 100% sure

How much HP (or should I say Tq) can the TDI crank hold?

well past 300hp and 500wtq(from a running diesel). At least that's what I've seen in person. I'm sure they can hold more than that as they are forged. I don't know any body (in person) that's currently using that crank, so I don't know.

    Bump for a good price.

Free for me right? 'Cuz I'm a pal?
