    Are these real ecodes?

I have the shitty halo headlights from the previous owner, the tabs on both broke so i'm upgrading. Ecodes with bulbs and ballasts cost ~800 on a bunch of sites so i decided to see what ebay has to offer and found a pair for 320 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-...Q5fAccessories

Why such a big price difference? Also would i be able to fit the 1 piece euros (same company, same price) in a pre-facelift? How much modification will be needed?

EDIT: I understand that they are not OEM. What i'm asking is whether the light output will be comparable to oem

    Re: Are these real ecodes?

They look like real Ecodes, not sure if they're real HID or not though.. I have a very similar pair. Ask the seller if they come with ballasts and a wiring harness. If they don't then I'd be very skeptical. I believe with the one piece you have to switch out the connectors for the turn signal bulbs and you have to grind down the fenders so they'll fit. Might also have to get new connectors for the headlights.. when I got the 1 piece Euro's they had a flat rectangular connector instead of the stock round one.

That is super cheap for HID's.. probably a little too cheap.

    Same thing here?

They come with a pre-installed: "Bulb Specifications: (HIGH: H7) (LOW: D2S HID) (CITY: W5W)
HID bulb included and installed, high and city bulbs not included."

    The ballasts are also included.

The link ^^ where they are 199 is without bulbs and ballasts

Sounds good.. still skeptical though that price is extremely low.

FWIW I bought a badgeless grille off of that seller and it was horrible quality.. bent and wouldn't even fit. They refunded me less shipping charges.

    Re: Are these real ecodes?

    They are replica's..

I would only get OEM Valeo ecodes. (1 piece)

If you're after the smoked out look, you can paint the inside of the housing black to get the same look. Or you could get Lamin X and smoke it out easily

    Re: Are these real ecodes?

    I wouldn't buy those.

You will find the beam pattern's inferior to OEM Valeo's.

No mention of adjustment motors either...

Mine have the two manual adjusters just like the halogen model. I know it's not the same.

    Re: Are these real ecodes?

I had the Depo 2-Piece lights before my Ecodes and they definitely were a step up from the stock 2-piece lights, and probably from the headlights you have now.

That being said I would just get some 1-Piece Depo replica Ecodes, or some used 1-Piece facelift headlights from a 99-01 A4.
