    Pic's of my A4....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I thought I would share some pic's of my A4. I have owned it one week and have so far done: Drivers door window reg, ignition switch, tints, H&R springs, RS4 style alloys, HVAC panel repair, Oil and coolant flush and change, Hall sensor, spark plugs, air filter....Buff and polish.

The old owner let a dog play in the interior so I am currently looking for some new bits. Headliner is sagging so I will be getting to that this week.

    Thanks for looking

    Re: Pic's of my A4....

    Thanks guys!

I am looking at angel/halo headlights with HID's, but can't decide if I want that sort of look or not. If I go with that look it will get black headlights and tail lights and paint the wheels, badges and window chrome etc black or very dark matte grey. Hmmm, thoughts on this idea?

The head liner will be my first go at a job like that, I will go with a grey to match the original I think and just give it a shot, I can't make it any worse

How do you mean? I used the engine flush, then drained the old oil, removed the old filter, fitted the new filter and refilled the engine with oil.

Clear side markers are definitely on the list, not sure where I can get them in New Zealand, suppose I can always get them shipped over.....

Thanks for the kind words on my wheels, I wanted 19" but 18" worked out a lot cheaper, in fact I had change left over for my rim's tyres and springs from what just the 19" rim's and tyres were going to cost. RS4 style rims suit the B5 the best IMO.

    Clear sidemarkers and Updated Tailights!

Nice and clean otherwise, good choice on 18's too. Only a couple b5's i've seen with 19's can actually pull them off.

Thanks man! I will be going for a stock look with the headliner, or maybe black if I can't get close to the factory material.

Cheers bro, these must be very subtle differences or perhaps I have not studied the A4 B5 models enough, never noticed a difference in the trunk?

Replace your shocks before they fail. It happens often when aftermarket springs and placed on stock shocks.

Thanks for the advise, (Just so you know, not trying to come off as a prick) I have been putting after market springs in cars for 15 years, I am yet to see a failure due to fitting springs.

If the shocks fail, they were stuffed. Some times this is made more apparent due to the change in position the shock piston now runs, but the problem is not caused by fitting new springs, the shock is just worn out.

    Cheers bro!!

I am OCD when it comes to my cars, they are all kept in very tidy condition. The paint process I used on this great for dark colors (and red) but is very time consuming.

To make a long story short, you need to:

Wash car correctly to remove dust and dirt
Use "bug and tar" remover to, you guessed it, remove all the tar and bugs...
Using a "Clay bar" (I use a Maguires bar) as directed to flatten out the paint giving a smooth finish. (This is very important and provides the basis for a good shine)
I use mostly "Autoglym" products as I find they provide the best result.
Using "Autoglym" "Paint Renovator" Polish the car (there is a correct process to applying polish, but lets keep this as short as possible, I can cover the process I use if you like)
Then I apply "Autoglym" "Deep resin polish"
Then I apply "Autoglym" "Superior shine"

Then I enjoy a beer while walking around and around my car checking for spots I missed.

As I said, this is a brief description of what I did to this car, I you would like more detail I am happy to help :)
    Life is good!
