Cheers bro!!
I am OCD when it comes to my cars, they are all kept in very tidy condition. The paint process I used on this great for dark colors (and red) but is very time consuming.
To make a long story short, you need to:
Wash car correctly to remove dust and dirt
Use "bug and tar" remover to, you guessed it, remove all the tar and bugs...
Using a "Clay bar" (I use a Maguires bar) as directed to flatten out the paint giving a smooth finish. (This is very important and provides the basis for a good shine)
I use mostly "Autoglym" products as I find they provide the best result.
Using "Autoglym" "Paint Renovator" Polish the car (there is a correct process to applying polish, but lets keep this as short as possible, I can cover the process I use if you like)
Then I apply "Autoglym" "Deep resin polish"
Then I apply "Autoglym" "Superior shine"
Then I enjoy a beer while walking around and around my car checking for spots I missed.
As I said, this is a brief description of what I did to this car, I you would like more detail I am happy to help :)
