How do you tighten down the exhaust stud on a new set of K04's? I can't get two nuts on there to do in the old fashion way.

    Re: K04 stud installation

I used red lock tight and used pliers to grab the part of the stud that doesnt have threads. Havent gotten the car running yet so dont know if they will hold but thats what i did.

    Re: K04 stud installation

I didnt use any thread lock on my. I used two bolts that thread on the stud turned each in a different direction to get them tight and tighten the stud.

Remember the short side of the thread goes in the turbo.

Tighten the studs down as well as you can with pliers and then torque the nuts to 18 ft/lbs

any reason studs are used? When I pulled my dp's off, the bolt stayed on the stud and the stud got pulled out. I replaced the studs with regular bolts and lock washers.

I think he is asking about actual stud into flange, not nut to stud.

There is no torque specs for stud itself, you just screw one in until it stops, which normally it does once you run out of thread. Torque exerted by the nut (once you fasten the other part on top of it) is what holds it in place on both ends.
