Any of you guys have recommendations for a shop in the Dallas area? Also, any recommendations that I might need to look into besides chip/injectors/exhaust? TIA guys, need to get some done

Yeah!! I got my GIAC at Autoscope in Plano. Another REALLY good one that is getting more popular is Unitronic, a guy in Plano does that too. His name is Thomas and his shop is called DFW CarHaus. He's a really nice guy and Unitonic is a really good chip! Check out their website. Unitronic.ca

Thanks Chad, I forgot to mention that I am open to any suggestions on the chip as well, although I think I'm leaning towards APR or GIAC. How's that workin out for you btw? It seems like you always have something good to say about your chip

FWIW Friend of mine is having issues with GIAC on his TT!

As for REVO, Soulspeed in Austin is a REVO distributer

Re: I'm hungry, and chips sound yummy....

I've had the GIAC on my car now for about a year and going from the stock 7-8 PSI to 14.7 PSI is like night and day! I honestly have not had any problems with it at all! APR sells some really nice stuff, but they aren't as easily upgradable as GIAC or REVO. Autoscope told me if I get some 380CC injectors, they would just charge me a shop fee of $75 to upgrade to the Stage 1+. They are really nice guys and treat my car really good. I am really big on customer service, and that's why these guys have my service. Plus the product is good!

    Autoscope, lol.
If you want APR, I suggest Dub Squared in Arlington. They are great guys up there and their prices beat all others because they dont charge an installation fee like Autoscope. APR has some pretty good deals going on and their stage 1+ seems to be pretty popular with the B6 guys. If you need more info PM me.

I haven't been very happy with the lack of support from GIAC, I wouldn't recommend them...

Re: I'm hungry, and chips sound yummy....

    out of region but whatever...

1 to 1+ is a big difference imo. I went stock -> GIAC -> GIAC FX (injectors) on my USP.

Stock: well, u know it sucks. powerful enough to get around but not with any urgency.

Stage 1: car felt stronger all over. even off idle. but after a few days it quickly became apparent that the power is very limited and localized. basically you get a massive rush (torque/boost spike) at 3000rpm, but it dies off very quickly. so 2500-3000rpm felt like strong acceleration, but even by 4000rpm the boost was dropping off and high rpms were still pretty useless. boosted ~15psi but would only hold 13 and was back to 10 at redline.

Stage 1+: similar to stage 1, except the torque is much stronger. spike at 3000rpm was at ~21psi, and it held at ~18psi to 5500rpm. So it was immediately noticeable that the car boosted more at the spike, but what really shines is that power holds from 3k-5.5k rpm. So rather than a brief surge of power, the power would surge and hold for a while. Boost still tapers near redline. KO3 just gets winded.

In time Stage 1+ get boring though. You find that having power only between 3000-5000rpm kinda sucks. If you daily drive it and aren't trying to race people it is plenty of power. But its still slower than most V6 cars and a handful of 4cyls. But due to the turbo and torque, it feels much quicker than it is.

Go stock -> 1+. stage 1 is a waste of time, if you disagree, you will change your mind after going 1+.

Re: I'm hungry, and chips sound yummy....

So just got back into town from Dallas and getting my +1 done at Autoscope with GIAC. Autoscope has a brand new shop, it's only been open for a month or so, and so I got there around 12 and I installed my Injectors myself when I got there so I didn't have to pay for them to do it. After that, they brought my car into this absolutely HUGE shop and I guess since they're so new they really don't have everything in order yet. So they didn't really know much about the +1 tune, so he had to call GIAC and do everything on the phone step by step which seriously took about and hour and a half. Anyways so he finishes and $120 later, I drive out spiking at 20 PSI and holding a little over 18. It pulls a lot harder and is very enjoyable so far! Chad and Brad are the "service advisers" there and were a really big help. Oh and the new AutoScope also has 2 shiny brand new Mustang AWD Dynos!!

Their new shop looks immaculate. They also have an F1 simulator there and even special parking curbs that are low enough for "low" cars.

Agreed. I wanted to go into that "Dream Garage" next door but Brad said it wasn't quite ready...
