Ignition problem, key will not turn!

I need some help. Last night leaving work, it was fine, everything was normal. This morning whenever I tried to go out, the key will turn just enough to cause the dinging from the door being open, but will not turn any further than that it seems.

I did not want to try to force it to turn because I dont really want to deal with a broken key on top of this. I am pretty sure that the problem is not the key, as it will still unlock the doors.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

rock the steering wheel back and fourth.

Steering Wheel...wiggle it with some force while turning the key.

yeah, if there is pressure on the wheel the key won't turn.
try turning the wheel a little bit in one direction and turn the key while doing it, if that doesn't work try the other direction.

Yea thanks guys it worked and I'm stupid lol. I'll know next time I guess. It took a lot more force on the wheel to get the key to turn than I thought it would.
