    BBK Q's

Ok so i just put on some stoptechs on my car. My questions are:
    1) What do I do about the brake warning i'm now getting?
    2) I had to use 3mm spacers to get them to fit under stock wheels but now my steering wheel is shaking. How can I fix this?

So far i'm very pleased with them just have those 2 questions.

    Re: BBK Q's

    1. If the replacement pads did not come with wear sensors, you need to create something that will close that loop and fool the computer to think the pads are wired.

    2. Make sure that you have properly seated spacers, the thinner the spacer the harder it is to make sure things are seated. Just stick with the star tightening pattern and you should be fine.

    Re: BBK Q's

    1) what can I get/use to do this? I know the B5 S4 owners have done it but i don't know what to do.

    2) I'll take the wheels off again and see if I can get them to sit better.

    Re: BBK Q's

I've never done this before but I think you can cut the old wiring harness off the OE brake pads and splice the ends together and plug it in.

    Re: BBK Q's

From the stock pads, cut the sensor thing off and solder the two wires together, then plug that into the connection. That *should* work

Can you not simply turn the pad wear indicator off with Vag-com in the instrument cluster?

I've done it on countless mk4 and mk5 chassis VW's, B6 S4's, TT's and A3's. I've never had the occasion to try the B7 A4. However, we have 2 here with BBK's and no pad wear indicator lights. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it on a B7 A4 and it didn't work. I assumed this knowledge was well known. I will find out tomorrow!

No, As far as I know nobody makes a 3mm spacer that is hub centric. Or they are but they don't have the lip for the wheel to remain hub centric.

If you figure it out will you let me know how to do it? I can get access to a vag-com so that isn't a problem. That would solve me from cutting up my stock pads to try and solder them together.

This is a little off-topic, but how is the paint on the wheels holding up to the snow?

Cold? not with heated seats. Can't complain about the snow. It gives me something to do.

I got them used from BigBen on the other forum. He just reaplaced the rotors and hats and the pads have half life left. Sorry about the other night, I was really tired. It is going to snow the rest of the week I hear so I'll give you a call.

So far so good. They have a few chips that are no bigger than your pinky nail. I know i got some marks from getting my alignment done so the paint seems to be doing fine. I'm sure I'll touch it up in the spring just to make them look prudy again.
