On my way home tonight my cel came on, I havent scanned it yet. The only thing I can say is that I had no loss of power, pulled strong through all gears. So I dont think it is a misfire issue or maf. What else could it be??

    Re: Cel help

There is no way to tell what it is until you scan it.

As the owners manual says if the CEL comes on and stays on solid it is safe to drive. You just need to scan it and see what is causing the CEL.

When you do scan it, if you clear the code it will not get rid of the problem. The CEL will come back on again until you fix what ever it came on for.

If the CEL light is flashing you need to pull over and shut the car off. That can cause damage to your car. At least that is what the owners manual says.

But to answer your question we cannot tell you. Could be a lot of different things.

    Re: Cel help

Yeah the CEL can be pretty common.

I also want to say that a lot of times it can be for 02 sensors with intermittant resistance too high.

i'd get the odb II cable and the vag-com cable so you can scan it yourself. thats what I did. It will really help with diagnosing problems with the car.
