Baaad shifting issues after engine oil change

I changed the ENGINE oil and the coolant today in my 01 tip. When I was finished, I took it around the block. I forgot to reconnect the passenger side intercooler hose and the car obviously ran like crap. I got back, reconnected the hose, and parked it. It sat for a couple hours, I just drove it home, and now I've got really weird shifting issues.

    1. Starting off from a dead stop first gear wouldn't engage right away...there'd be a second delay and then clunk into gear at 2-2.5k rpms

    2. On the freeway under heavy throttle it would hesitate

    3. Also on the freeway it would accelerate while the rpms stayed constant.

    4. At certain cruising speeds the rpms would jump by 4-500

all of these issues happened intermittently on my 15 mile drive home.

since i didn't touch the tranny, i'm assuming it's a tuning problem brought about by running the car with the intercooler hose disconnected. has anyone experienced this before??

Just a shot in the dark but are you sure the you drained engine oil not tranny lol. I know that in a passat oil and tranny plugh are pretty close to each other and many people make that mistake.

    Try reseting the battery.

My oil drain plug isnt anywhere near the drain plug for the tranny. It could be different on a tip though. Also, the trans fluid drain plug is a huge allen key instead of a regular bolt. I know this is a stupid question, but did you check the oil level while refilling?
