ECU has a chip Upgrade?

I just picked up my B5 S4 from the dealership and loving the ride. This car has lots of power but without opening the ECU is there any way of telling if the previous owner has installed a ECU chip Upgrade?

He is partially right. After installing the boost gauge, if it boosts to around 9psi then it is basically stock.

If it boosts higher then that with ease, then yes you are chipped.

As a rule upgraded chips will boost anywhere from 14 psi - 19 psi.

Most chipped ecu's boost from 15-17 psi.

Regardless I think it is a requirement to have a boost gauge. It really helps you keep a good idea of how your car is running and if you have any boost leaks. If you dont have a gauge its not as easy to tell by the thrust it puts you back in the seat.

if you feel that youre filling up the gas more often then you should, thats a big possibility that its ecu was remapped. im filling every 3 days, before that i was going 6 days on a tank.

noooot exactly.. you should be getting close to the same mileage with a chipped ECU when driving normally. It's your driving habits that change because of the chip that make you burn more gas due to gratuitous use of the right pedal.
You might want to check your EGTs and 02 sensors there ^
