Hey Im looking for advice or tips or anything at this point how how to install a downpipe I got a brand new neuspeed exhaust for really cheap, and been trying to install it for hours I can seem to figure out how you bolt the cat to the downipe. All the old exhuast is already removed, and the cat but but I cant seem to wiggle any type of open ended wrench or socket with extenions to torque two of the three of the bolts in the wee little room of the transmission tunnel. Does it install as one piece from the top or you have to install the downpipe and cat seprately. Sorry for the long post, Im just out of ideals and only have tomorrow left to install it.

    Btw its Fwd 1.8T

    Re: Downpipe Issue

on a quattro it's easier to install separately. You need to start all the bolts before tightening them. Hope that helps.

    Re: Downpipe Issue

just did this today. what a PITA. tighten the cat down first. i thought it would be easier with both of them having wiggle room but it isnt. tighten cat to turbo, then but bolts in from top side and set gasket in place so bolts hold it up. then wiggle the downpipe. it will be 100x easier with a second person who can tighten from the top while you hold a wrench on the bottoms. i will recommend a wobbly socket and a long extension and tighten from wheel well area and under car
