Lightweight hood dampers?

When I bought my car, the previous owner had installed a carbon fiber hood, but removed the stock dampers, for fear that they would be too strong and damage the ~13 lb. hood. After searching around, I haven't found dampers for lightweight hoods, but I've noticed several people have CF hoods. What do you guys do? Any recommendations?

Remove the OEM dampners...

I use a carbon-fiber tube, which is 1/2 diameter, and has 2 rubber ends on it, to prop up my CF hood.

lol same problem here, i use wooden stick that i wrapped in wide electric tape. I researched TEIN hood struts but they dont make for our model, unless you match one from other car

Yeah. I came from a WRX, and the Teins were really popular, but I they don't make anything for us, and I don't think anything is "close enough."

you can find it i know because both fittings are very common, only issue is how storng they are and the length
