EPL dyno day, how did you guys do?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I made 1000awhp on EPL's dyno

    LOL joking, I wish

I didn't make it there. Right now stuck at Clinton CT off I95 at a gas station waiting for Jake to tow me and sipping coffee.
I had a massive oil leak. Blue smoke on the highway and oil burning smell. Pulled off right away and tried to patch up the oil leak. No luck.
Well, just another day at the office and some $$ out of my pocket.

On a positive note, let me know how you guys did on the dyno. I really wished I was there.

It's okay. I didn't blow up my engine. I don't have a belly pan so the oil got on my hot exhaust to cause all the blue smoke and burning smell. The oil pressure read fine and the coolant temp was fine as well. Jake just called me
    I am just bored.
My stock dyno numbers were 138 and 145 with GIAC chip. That was on dynodynamics which always is a heart breaker

Huh? An oil leak is never a good thing. How is that ok? Unless its just leaky valve cover?

I didn't end up dynoing because i wanted to do a few more things, and i didnt really want to wait. Doug did pretty well but ill let him post his numbers there was a 497 hp s4 and a bunch of porsches.

Can you see where the oil leak is coming from?

Re: EPL dyno day, how did you guys do?

Went and towed the car from around the world to my shop after finishing up a wp/tb today... The car is leaking oil from the aftermarket union put in above the oil filter flange, where someone put in an aftermarket gauge sending unit (oil pressure)...

I'm off to bed now, back to work in the morning, looking forward to a lovely relaxing Sunday...

I am sorry I have not posted yet. I am absolutely exhausted with getting no more than 3hrs of sleep all week. Last night I passed out around 7 or 8pm and woke up about an hour ago. I'm back at work because I have about a week's worth of work to do in two days for my review on Tuesday. My career comes first as it pays the bills and allows me to do the things I do with my cars, bikes and snowboards and stuff. I think most of us can relate...

I will post up the plots, video and a story with photos later tonight [in my thread] when I get home from work.

Max power was around 321awhp with torque being around 337 or 338awtq. Torque spikes just inside of 5krpm and power spikes just beyond that. Torque falls off a cliff and power holds up to 7krpm with a slight drop as RPMs are increasing. Power under the curve is big..

This was on my 93octane file with Sunoco 110 leaded race gas and +8.25deg of timing advance added view Lemmiwinks. Yes, I may have muddied the waters with comparing ASP's dyno with EPL's but I can say from an educated guess that both dynos are reading about the same (they are both Mustang dynos and I believe are running the same Mustang software). I am happy with the results and the results are about where I was expecting to be.

T25 flange is holding strong with no gasket. No leaks.

Oh, I found an awd dynojet here in Hartford at a local DSM place. The place I bought my fuel from. I want to organize a dyno day there...

Big thanks to Greg (actlsub9) for driving my Avant Friday night so I can keep my eyes focused on my computer. We logged over 20 WOT pulls (can you tell that I like data? ) to figure out how much timing advance I wanted to add to my 93file with 110 in the tank. I have some nice comparison overlay plots of timing advance I'll also post up.

Okay. back to work. you guys enjoy!

Re: EPL dyno day, how did you guys do?

Some photos from our caravan down to EPL.

    Black B5 S4 sedan w/ K04s.. EPL tuned
    Casa White B5 S4 avant w/ K04s... homebrew tune
    Dolphin Gray B6 A4 sedan w/ MTM K04
    Denim Blue B6 A4 avant w/ 2.0L stroker
On the way home we had another Black B5 S4 sedan with us.

The best part of the trip was the short tunnel on the Merritt parkway. All four of us got on it in that tunnel. Sounded like a racetrack. It was music to my ears.

    (3.6L swap!)

    late day R32 tweaking...

Not directly. We just cruised at the speed limit the whole day down there and back. Didn't really mess around at all.

Indirectly... I was behind both S4s in the tunnel on the way home and they pulled on me.

I miss that show, why did Big have to go and get her prego?

Anyways, my buddies and a bunch of locals were admiring my work ethic, and the name was starting growing on them... Then I go a talk to a bunch of em and they were like, "you do werk man, Do Werk Garage it is!"

Who am I to say no? That's damn flattering if you ask me, customers naming your shop
