Is there any way that the CD player could say the name of the songs on the CD?

I have the Symphony I, and it doesn't say the name of the song. Is there a way I could change it?

Re: Is there any way that the CD player could say the name of the songs on the CD?

I have an RNS-E and it does not show the names for CD's. I don't think audio CD's have the id3 tags embedded in the file so i'm skeptical that its even possible. For example, if you put a CD in your computer, iTunes wont even be able to read the track names without the internet to find them, so I just don't see how the car stereo would.

I have two computers a dell and mac. Wen making cds with my dell the title never shows up in any car i drove. When making cds with my mac, which im assuming defaults it to mp3 files, all the song names and artists show.

well there is something like "CD text".. some CD's have that BUT only players with CDtext function can read those informations from CD's. I'm pretty sure that none of audi HU have that ability.

Re: Is there any way that the CD player could say the name of the songs on the CD?

mine always shows up, I have the symphony audio. It depends on what format you burn your songs with and what program. I know Nero embeds the file so whatever the title says that's what it will read.

It's called CD-Text. Go into the advanced preference in iTunes under Burning to turn it on. It works like a charm and they're not mp3s. It a feature on normal CDs.

I finallt found it for Windows Users, Itunes 8.xx:
You create a Playlist with the songs that you want to burn, Select all and then click "Burn Disk", in the lower right corner. A pop up will show up and you have to select "CD Text"
