Staggered wheels on a A8L not a good idea? Why?

I heard someone say that staggered wheels on a quattro is not a good idea, I can't see why do you know?

I have been playing with the idea of changing wheels and I ran across someone who said it's not a good idea, please explain.

    Thanks

The way I understand it; b/c of the AWD system staggered wheels/tires will spin at a different RPM thus putting undue stress on the drive train (front wheels/tires spinning at a different rate than the rears) where wheels/tires of the same size all theoretically spin at the same RPM. I guess you could size the tires in such a way that they are the same size front to back but it might look kinda silly b/c of the sidewall required to get them the same height?

I heard that Lambo will actually void a warranty if they see a car with a staggered setup.

R8 and lambos do have staggered wheels
i know that murcielago has front 245/35r18 and rear 335/30r18
you can run staggered until rolling diameter is the same
i dont think audi a8 should run staggered its not r8 or lambo
    but if you want
here is link to check rolling diameter http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Ok I understand rolling height but what about width? Will the extra weight on wider rims in the rear have any ill effect on the drivetrain?
