Central lock pump question

Will A B5 car start without the central lock pump installed? Not, well I wouldnt think so.... Well, maybe it will. Looking for someone who had experience with this. Thanks.

rob i just read a thread about this. some guy had his car at a bodyshop and they couldnt understand why it wouldnt start and they hadnt hooked the pump up and they ended up figuring out it HAS to be connected, or the car wont start. haha crazy s4
