    potential clutch issue?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so i took my car into a mechanic today and he took my car for a test drive to diagnose a problem i had (problem now fixed), but he also noted that my clutch takes a long time to disengage, as in you have to bring the pedal out a lot before you can get the car rolling. i always thought this was normal but he thinks my clutch is on its way out...

    any thoughts?

I think the catch points usually are high in Audis. If you get a racing clutch usually the catch point is low like hondas.

Nope. Not an issue, my release point personally is super high for all the cars i have driven, except for a GT2.

    Re: potential clutch issue?

Normal for stock clutch seeing that the stock pressure plate is really soft so it doesn't take much pressure to push the fingers down. THe after market clutch kits engage much lower because they use a pressure plate that is stuffer so it takes more pressure to push the fingers, they also have "pre-load" pressure while the stock clutch does not.
