    Please help! I'm stuck!

I am installing a JVC KW-Adv790 in my 2002 a4 now. This is pretty much the same as the JVC KW-AVX710. So far I have connected all the wires coming out of the stereo except for the parking brake wire, the "tel muting" wire (don't know what that is), the power antenna wire, the reverse sensor wire, and the remote (its a small jack). I am assuming the stereo will still work without those wires(..right?). All of the wires from the harness (metra 70-1787) are connected except for the blue wire and gray and white RCA's. On this thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...eo+information, it says the blue wire should be hooked up to the aftermarket radio’s amp turn-on wire. There is not a wire coming out of the stereo that is labeled anything like the amp turn-on wire. What do I do?

by the way, when I hooked the battery back up the buttons on the bottom lit up for a moment but the screen did not...if that means anything. Thanks!!!

the remote wire is absolutely needed. that is what gives power to youre headunit. you have to tap into another source of power which comes on with the turn of the key because the stock radio gets a signal from the ecu rather than having a wire. i spliced directly into the ingnition wire. some other people used a place in the fuse box.

So do I do that and then just ignore that blue wire coming out of the harness?

"tel mute" mutes the HU audio out when the BT telephone is in use.

Your REM wire(blue) is to be connected to an after market amplifier. It tells the after market amp when to turn on. I'm not sure what your gray wire is for I believe that is normally a speaker wire if its coming from the radio unit. Does your car have Bose? If so there may be a different way to wire it due to the factory amplifier.
