    DC weather in January

Hey I am going to be taking a trip to DC/MD in January and wanted to know what kind of cold weather to expect. SNOW/below 0 temps/anything you could let me know that would be helpful.

One of the decisions will include me renting a car for the trip vs possibly needing my quattro B6 for snow.

Eh snow is hit or miss down here. It'll be cold, but unless a system comes through, you probably won't see snow. Figure 20-30 degree temps, maybe low 40s if the sun is out

If there is any precipitation its usually a mix of snow/ice/rain so the roads get pretty nasty cause at night it will all freeze.

drivers in this area suck, so if there's any type of precipitation outside, expect traffic delays.

also, try not to be anywhere near 495 (beltway), route 66, 270 or I-95 from the main rush hour periods.

rush hour around here is 7:30am - 10:00am
    and 4:00pm - 8:00pm

thursdays are particularly bad. Evening rush hour starts a little earlier on fridays.

OMG best advice ever... 495 was created by Satan himself...

You won't need the B6, if you know how to drive in bad weather conditions, youll be just fine. To be honest, snow MIGHT come 1 or 2 times the whole month

which is depressing. i remember back in the day when we used to actually get a decent amount of snow. those were the days.

now i own a car that is ridiculously fun to drive in the snow. but it doesn't snow anymore.

    damn global warming......
