    how cheap?

I got a electronics guru buddy, were going to try and re-solder the connections to the board. I'm sure thats all audi does considering they charge a core when you buy a cluster from them
the B5 S4 is like the mafia... there is only one way out!

100 bucks for the screen, another 100 if you want him to install it

DxC on the boards, PM him he'll sell you one and if you have a guru buddy then try it out!

    Re: Instrument Cluster retrofit

Well I was thinking about doing the retrofit (if it was possible) because it has a color screen and its updated as far as looks go..

But my question is, is it possible?

Are you talking about just the LCD panel or the entire guage cluster?

Is it even the same dimensions?

    Re: Instrument Cluster retrofit

if your talking of the entire cluster then I doubt it, it's at least gonna take a dash conversion too, and probably a steering column. they have totally different shaped clusters. they are wider, have buttons, come down further on the ends, etc.

I don't see how the color screen would work in the stock instrument cluster.....maybe if you customized a cluster

That sounds like an electronic nightmare!

I'm planning on using either a euro KM/H cluster or an A6 cluster because of the inverted color.

    Re: Instrument Cluster retrofit

So from what I gathered, retrofitting any cluster that isnt from a b5 isn't possible.

Thats gives me, and others who have my problem two options:

    1. Replacing the full cluster. (Would rocking an rs4 cluster be frowned upon?)

    2. Sending my cluster out to getting a new screen put in for $200.00

1: It's your car, do what you want. The RS4 lights illuminate red versus the white of the S4.

2: Buy a core(cheap) and get it refurbished and install in your car.

Hey Ric whens the new look coming?

My pixel are pretty much non existent lol.... I don't really care for them so I'm not sure if $200.00 is worth it to fix.
