    Wheel Backspacing Question

I just lowered my Avant, and I have to admit that it's a little too low for my tastes. I didn't opt for coilovers, so I'm going to have to live with it.

My concern is that I want to go to a 19" wheel. The wheel I'm looking at is a 19 x 8 30mm backspace wheel. Is the 30mm going to push the outer lip of the rim closer to the fender or deeper into the wheel well? Should I be looking at a wheel with a 40mm backspace instead?

My S4 isn't lowered as much and I'm running 19 x 8.5 35mm offset wheels and I had some rubbing issues. So I don't want to choose wrong because I'm really going to be in trouble with this car if I do. Thanks!

    Re: Wheel Backspacing Question

I have a set of 8.5 x 19 with ET35 and no rubbing with a 235/35/19 tire. What tire size and brand are you using?

In any case- 0 ET would be centered, the higher the ET the further the disc face goes to the outer edge of the rim, or the furtehr in the wheel bed goes into the wheel well.

I'm sitting lower than that. Here's what it looks like.

30mm would most likely rub that is far most recceomended is 35 you would want to go in to prob 36 to help on rubbing issues. stock is 43mm
