28RS/2871R differences

I think that the exhaust side is the same between the GT28RS and the GT2871R. Is that true?
If so, is it possible and/or cost-effective to swap just the compressor side then?
Or does it make more sense financially to just buy the whole 2871R and then sell my 28RS?

I'm trying to piece together everything I need for my build this winter and my wants are bigger than my wallet (don't we all know how that works, lol?).
I'm trying to do things a little at a time to help with cost, since the car doesn't need to be driven at all. Just trying to save every penny I can.

turbine side is identical

compressor side has a bigger wheel and housing

Both of the exhaust housings (turbine section) are the same, however the center cartridge is different, as well as the compressor wheel.

The turbine housing is worth about $75.00

I can check with FP and see if they will do a HTA 28-71 for you.

what software u going to use?? and what do you expect to gain over the 28rs?

I didn't know FP did anything HTA related with the 2871R. More info? Feel free to PM it to me if you don't want to post it.

Not sure if they have in the past or are even interested in doing it. I was thinking about seeing what they can do with the eliminators...

They have a bolt on turbo for the Evo X that runs 10 second quarter miles.

Can you swap out the center cartridge and the compressor housing with a 2871 and 28rs?
