If anyone can give me recommendations I would really appreciate it.
At 60,000 miles I replaced my stock rotors with rotors from ECStuning.com. I installed Brembo OEM replacement rotors (look like stock, but were made by Brembo). I also installed PBR Ceramic pads.
I now have 96,000 miles and still going strong.
I think the pads are probably good for replacement and I figured that turning the rotors would be logical, right?
My big complaint with the PBR pads was that they squeaked for the first 10,000 miles and they make a TON of dust. My RS-4 replica wheels are always dirty as hell.
I purchased some PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads. These are organic and apparently make nearly no dust. I did read online though that some people claim their braking in the rain sucks ass. Maybe I should go with a new pad before I do all this work?
1. Would my Brembo/OEM rotors be turnable/resurfaceable? Would I want to?
2. Should I go with a different pad? My Nissan buddy recommends Akebono pads? He says they make them for AUDI now? http://www.akebonobrakes.com/afterma...f/eurocard.pdf
3. A friend of his (who works on Audi's) says that typically Audi front rotors can't be turned. There just isn't enough material.
Do I really need to buy these German rotors? If you look on www.Kragen.com you can see that Raybestos makes rotors for my car, $50 front. Seems cheap and hell if they work, Why pay more?
4. Would $250 be a good price for the labor to turn rotors and install my pads (I supply)?
I don't race at the track, I don't do any crazy crap. I drive my audi to/from work, to the store, etc.
Anything else you can suggest I appreciate.
