Angry broke something during n249 bypass

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well I thought I had the right hose. It is the hose that is tied together with the hose that comes form the intake manifold. I accidently broke off the wrong prong. The hose that I ripped off goes along the intake manifold hose then down and across the front of the engine by the radiator then goes down into a circular cylinder by they cat.
What did I break, will I need to replace it, is my car drivable? etc.
    I'm very angry with myself.

Did you rip out the whole little nipple thing coming off the intake manifold? Or just the hose?

no, the intake manifold is fine. its a hose coming off the n249 or something else by the n249 valve that the nipple broke off into the hose

Well I just realized I attatched the wront one and broke the right clipping, which is good because I wont need that. Bad news is that I broke the other line end too. ERGG. It is the one that is a side exit then it U's and goes behind the engine. What is that too? this is a disaster. I hooked up the right hoses, but I have that one broken nipple, top right in the picture, but comes out of the valve to the left then U's behhind engine.

Re: broke something during n249 bypass

Not a problem. Find the hose coming from the DV and plug it into the hose barb on the front corner of the manifold. No more is required to run without the N249. However I would recommend pulling off the hose running from the bottom of the N249 down to the "T" connection and plugging the hose. That hose runs to the vacuum canister. You don't have to plug it, but if you don't you will have an open line to the canister.

For future reference, a little tip if you want to do the N249 bypass. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a 2-piece pack of brass hose barb connectors. Find the hose running from the DV to the N249. It runs across the front of the motor. Unplug the line running from the front corner of the manifold to the N249. Cut the line that you just located running from the DV to the N249 and plug it into the nipple on the front of the manifold. Using one of the hose barbs, you plug the other end of the cut line it into the line you just unplugged from the front corner of the manifold. Very easy to reverse and no need to f**k around under the manifold.
