okay i searched and couldnt really find the exact situation, or maybe im just not looking right....anyways, when i start my car and put it into drive...the second i release the brake, a noticable "click" occours...after setting off and traveling down the street, at the next stop, i hear more clicks as the brake is applied

so im thinking either something with the brakes or the driveshaft/axle

im under warranty and want this fixed!

    thanks for any help guys

also im noticing an rpm jump at idle (after warmup) ill be sitting there and the rpms will drop slightly (car will rumble) then it will go back up, and repeat untill i go

If its a non rythmic clicking sound and its up front under the hood, its an alternator issue. I had the same symptoms you had. Hope you have warranty :)

Hook me up with your email and i can send you a video clip that i took from my blackberry of what my car was doing.

The clicking sound is probably your front wheel bearings and your idle problem sounds like you have a vacum leak somewhere on the cold side of you engine. Check the pcv valve and all of you vacum hoses and connections for leaks. Thats probably where your idling problem is coming from.

It's not his wheel bearings. I had my two front ones replaced and you can only hear them when you put stress on them like when you turn.

clicking when you turn and throttle or turn really tight is most likely a cv. I,ve boke two and replaced a total of 4.

You will hear air being sucked in.

Check manually for loose fittings, cracks. Listen for them. When I had this problem my dad recommended spraying a little carb cleaner over all the hoses and connections, but I found it before I came to this step.

^^^ Yeah, carb cleaner is a good idea. If you spray the hoses while the engine is running the engine will start to stall if you have a leak. Then just narrow it down to what hose or fitting is sucking outside air. Lets us know what happens.

    Back from the dead....

What if the click is not rhythmic? I hear an occasional click when I turn the wheel right or left, and I **THINK** it stops once I start rolling past 5 mph. I tried the driving in reverse trick to one direction or the other and could not produce the clicking. However when I am rolling forward and turn right or left I can definitely hear an audible click. I am still warrantied until march of next year so if it is a CV I want it taken care of ASAP. Thanks in advance!

If the warranty is still valid, I'd say: take it in the dealer - no matter what the issue.

I absolutely will, but just for peace of mind, I would like to know what it may be prior to taking it in. It seems most likely to be the inner CV joints?

Does this happen when your A/C is on? The exact same thing happens with my car, but it's only when the A/C is running. It's not really that big of a deal to me since it's only a very slight variation in RPMs, but it does give an ever so slight vibration like it's going to stall and then picks the RPMs back up.

This has been happening since I got the car at 38k. It's odd how it happens when if feels like. Damn gremlins.....oh and it happens whether the a/c is on or not. Maybe you clutch is kicking on and you feel the draw at idle.

I've been having a click as well but the dealer never "hears" it lol, from my readings, it might be a wheel bearing.
