NEW BUYER/ How do I check for common problems?

I relaize this is probable in FAQ but its impossible to find anything on how to check for the common problems for the B5 S4, just what they are. Im not a wrench by all means although I know the basics, but keep it simple and outline everything. Thanks for everyone who helps me out.

its a car with forced induction
problems seen in order of frequency;
vacuum leaks
boost leaks
failing diverter valves
turbos failing prematurely
*all of the above can be prevented with good upkeep and maint*
n75-boost control valve failing
axillary water pump failing (plastic inlets crack)
dash cluster pixels dying
coil packs go out randomly

there u have it.
this has been covered 1232151234231zillion times on this forum
just hang around and look at the numerous threads created by people like you asking what teh common problems are.
ps if you dont want to learn how to work on the b5s4 i hope your pockets are deep

Also lots of control arms and possibly tie rods. Check those out too.

And valve cover/cam tensioner gaskets (oil starts to seep out, not a huge job).

Shopping for a used one, i'd personally be a little concerned if the coolant looked non-pink and/or the oil level is real low etc, but I guess those are more general...just saying.

Most importantly, have the car scanned for codes and get any EGT's etc dealt with!
