I am doing some research in case I decide to purcahse an s4 and do the ko4 conversion. Im sure there is something out there on this, I just cannot find it. Is there a reason awe tuning's kit is significantly less? I see with the manifolds it is about the same price as the competitors, without them it is around $5200. Has anyone used awe's kit? I am looking to buy an s4 and I would have around $8500 budget for mods so I am looking to do the kit and clutch, diverter valves, motor mounts while there in there. Thanks in advance on the comparison information.

    Re: KO4 Kit

has anyone ever done AWE Fueling? Yes.

5200 isn't great, usually you can grab all the K04 + hardware for around 2500 depending on prices and what you go with for inlets (034,GenX, OEM). and Fueling kits are as cheap as 1300, up to 2500.

Which leads to my next question, are the manifolds necessary with the upgrade?

Simple question: $8500 to spend on the setup whats the best way to go.

the main problem with the search function is getting answers like yours. SO please dont reply if you dont know or dont want to help. That way the search function would be great without answers like yours.

you got it right? if i search for "stage 3"... i will get your answer saying to search.

    Re: KO4 Kit

    manifolds are not necessary

if your trying to do a plug and play install i would go with something along the lines of ASP, AWE, or EPL although EPL can do custom tunes as well

In order to get the most out of your car your going to want the custom tune route. I highly recommend Vast, EPL again,or SSP

With stage 3 you should do a clutch, mounts, maintenance such as the timing belt, water pump, etc

Also try to get an Intercooler upgrade along with an exhaust, the best budget exhaust would be piggies, w/ a used catback

    hopefully that helps

Thats what I was thinking but I dont see a kit on Vast website unless you have to piece it together. By mounts you mean motor mounts and tranny mounts? Waterpump has been done on the one I am looking at and timing belt as well as it has an exhaust. What is the lower bottom faring? There is an issue with that.

ok.. and to not contribute to the useless chatter-
    op;
your best options are here on audizine or on audiworld. go for used fueling from a az aw member, a new set of k04's which are gonna cost 2k period and a k04 hardware kit (~$80)
bolt that stuff up to stock manifolds... gut your pre-cats.. and youre golden.
after trying to gut the precats myself i opted to search for a used set of asp 3 inch downpipes
all in all im stage 3 for around 4500 total. (not including clutch)

Yes, we've been the NW AWE dealer for a long time. The reason we use and support them is because their products are the finest for the money in our opinion. We wouldn't suggest crappy products to you.

You're right, my pockets are empty right now due to my Stasis Alcons ;)

Seriously though, AWE's fueling is the most expensive on the market. Not saying that in a bad way. AWE's product is rock solid, offers great reliability, driveability, and their support is top notch.

However I sold my AWE kit in search of more power.. Like I said, if your pockets are deep, and you want a rock solid product - go AWE.

Should have bought the STaSIS/Alcons from us then.

Definitely re: AWE's reliability, support, etc.

Be careful about going for more power in lieu of reliability and broken parts(long term).
