    Disable TPMS on 08 = FAIL ?!

    hi guys

    last night i finally put on my winter rims & tires (finally mounted!). the rims don't have the tpms sensors, but i read on this board that tpms can be disabled. i used this thread. after i got everything set, i drove my car around the block last night - no beeping or tpms warnings. fifteen minutes into my drive to work today, the tpms light came on flashing and the top section of the DIS showed "TPMS" in orange. after a minute or so, the tpms light stopped flashing and remained on steady.

    1. if i didn't disable tpms properly, how do i do that?
    2. WHAT THE !$@#%! DID I CHANGE IF IT WASN'T TPMS?!

    Select -> 17-Instruments -> Adaptation -> Channel 61.

    Subtract 512 from whatever value you find there.

    I just went yesterday to have it disabled. The tech did it with the procedure above and it worked great. I have an A4 08. I drove it 2 hours since and it did not come back.

    My TPMS sensors took a little while to kick on after I removed my stock Ti rims also. I haven't gotten around to Vaging it yet..just kind of dealt with the light.
