Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

Also they said the transmission mount is the problem causing the car to shake at idle or engaged in gear .... i thought it was a tensioner issue

    is this possible?

Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

If you have the tools the tranny mount wouldnt be hard to replace yourself you would just need a jack and some wood to put under the tranny and lift it off the mounts

Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

yes, tranny mounts can go bad.
upgrade your engine and tranny mount at the same time. 034 street density mounts is the way to go.

    btw, what's audi pure platinum?

Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

A transmission mount and a new trans fluid pan is easy to do, I don't believe the cost of repairs you posted, is anywhere reasonable. It is really easy to replace a trans mount, The trans pan plus about 9 liters of OEM trans fluid and the mount should not cost more than about $500 parts plus labor.

Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

Well they quoted $1155 for New mounts, new pan (lower oil pan) + labor

Re: Transmission mount and oil pan

The whole reason my dad's complaining about the car is because it vibrates - so stiffer mounts will make it vibrate more?

and they quoted about 500 in parts and 600 in labor (5 hours labor for pan 2 hours for mount)
