really?..I know someone who did it on their 190E and they spent under 5 grand on it all said and done. I'm trying to get some shop support to get a cut on the price and in return run their name on the car and do some local shows, but who knows I still need to go talk to them and considering I just purchased a 190E cosy I'm not planning on doing over 5k to the audi.

It would definitely be an interesting motor swap. It seems like an LS1 has been swapped into every car ever made.

If you decide to do the swap, be careful of the costs involved. I have a feeling they could easily go to above and beyond what is originally planned.

The mechanical aspects and fabrication are generally easy provided there's no major clearance issues. The electronic interface can however easily turn into a never ending source of problems. Given Audi's less than friendly electronic characteristics, I'd venture to say that anyone not totally intimate with Audi's electronics would be overwhelmed quickly. You could do a 'stand alone' with the motor and trans and then work towards isolating the vehicle's ECU as needed but your again faced with a very complicated task that would probably baffle most electronic guru's...at least until they've learned the intricacies of what they're working with.
Unless your doing all the work yourself including the electronics, having this shop done....provided you find someone brave enough to attempt such a project (with my assumption that no one has before)....$50,000.

I would say just about anything can be done with enough time, money and ingenuity. If you can do it, do it. I would love to do some major upgrades to my S6. I Just don't have enough of the above. For the folks that do, check the link. There are some folks out there with lots of time, money and ingenuity.

It's on fellas, engine is getting pulled sometime this month then its off to getting the engine/tranny/custom mounts fabricated. I'll be pulling the engine myself with some friends aid, this will be a long term project btw. Hopefully done by next Christmas.
