Re: What can I expect for 10-12 thousand?

I bought mine for $8,000 with 90k and the sport package ;)

10-12 probaly isn't going to get you one with under 70K.. not only because you'd need some more cash but because S4's really are not widely adopted collectors cars and most of their owners use them as daily drivers. The acutal number of low mileage S4's out there are most likely very few.

I'm sure you know this, but don't forget to focus more on maintenance details...higher mileage and well-maintained is much better than lower mileage and neglected.

Timing belt done on time? Proof of other maintenance? Reason for selling? Turbos making any noise?

Other than that, if you like it in person, then you can focus on getting your colour and a 6spd, with certain options etc.

And with some looking, you can get a good one for 10-12K i'd say. Might want to have 1-2K around for any catch up or initial stuff, but yeah.

Yeah, I opted to pay 12k for a Nogaro that was well maintained under audi warranties and had mostly tasteful upgrades. Turbos had been replaced along with timing belt, the car had 120k on it. I had found a black one with 75k, but had minimal maintained, and from the marks on it, was not babied. These motors are tanks, its the turbos and other BS you have to worry about.
