Random compliments on your car

How often do you guys get complimented on your car? Yesterday, I had three separate instances where total strangers came up and told me how much they liked my USP avant. The best one was an older guy (mid 40's) at my son's daycare.

Him: "Is your car 100% stock or have you modified it?"

me: "It's modified somewhat."

Him: "That is one god-damn good looking car!"

me" "Thanks"

Mind you it is in winter mode, so it has the stock USP rims on it, is lowered on H&R coilovers (24 3/4), has matte black mirrors and trunk trim, color matched DG upper and lower grills, tinted, S4 blades and brakes, and of course the USP package. Just nice to hear when people appreciate your car. Do you guys ever get this? Strange to have three in one day

not to sound cocky.. but yea everyday almost lol.... i got annoying comments when i had my TT tho..everyone thought they knew so much about it and tried talking to me about it... everyone thinks TT stands for twin turbo

if my car is clean its almost a guarantee someone will compliment me and ask how expensive it was.... i laugh and say $20k three years ago!!

I get a lot of random comments about my car. Usually it's people wondering how I drive a car that low and then looks of amazement when I hit the switches and it lifts off the ground. LOL

"Wow man, this car is awesome. I have to ask, how fast have you taken it?"

"They now make these tuning chips you can plug into the obd port. I watched pinks yesterday on the speed channel and saw the kid plug these into a stock 1.8T and run a 12.4 in the 1/4 mile."

This all coming from a mechanic...makes me think twice about where I service my car.

Also, one day there's a couple admiring my car in the Walmart parking lot. Tells me its a nice clean car blah blah. Tells me I should get a winter beater and not use this in the snow duh...snow is the best part!

Yeah so many compliments in fact, i get pulled over because Cops like to hate.

One time, i was talking to a few people who were asking me about my car, while I was filling up at a Gas station. Lexus driver and R32 driver.

The cop was in the donut shop across the way. He's just standing there staring - GLaring at us. A few minutes later, we break and hit the road. Cop rushes up behind, I mean BUMPER TO BUMPER, follows me for 2 stinkin miles. Mind you, this is local traffic, not motorway speeds.

I was like, WTH. I get on the phone, ask for the sergeant of that precinct, tell him the situation ("SOME PATROL Car is following me within smelling distance of my face" ) Is this Standard Operating Procedure?

Sergeant says "absolutely not".
me: Okay, he just punched the lights
Sarge; okay good, let me speak to him/her
Me: You got it sir.
Officer Dufus walks up to my window, sees me on the phone, gets ready to draw his weapon (excellent huh?).

Just before he does,
Me: Officer, your sergeant wants to speak with you.

Man, officer dufus had the biggest look of bewilderment on his face. He looked as if he didn't know what day of the week it was, which planet he was on, and what he smoked that very day.

Got off the phone with the sergeant (oh he had to go to the front of my car and cover the phone with the hand holding the phone btw). He came over handed me the phone, and left.



Anyway, needless to say, I got his name, patrol vehicle # and the lot.

Filed a civilian complaint, and requested Internal Affairs follow up on that police officer's Lack of Discretion while on duty.

Yeah, guess its a long way around in the other direction, for an extreme compliment huh?

I was at a gas station the other night and getting ready to leave, I cut my headlights on and started the car when this woman was walking by and she said "WTH, your car just winked at me, that is sexy" LOL, she was referring to how the headlights auto level on startup...

my favorite compliment wasnt even spoken to my face -- my ex and i were in the car just driving down king street (like a "main st", but in boone) and while in traffic she said that she saw this girl on the sidewalk mouth the words "oh my god, i LOVE that car" and she then proceeded to point and get her friends' attention.

that was a pretty good feeling.

Best compliment was from the Ocean City Police Department lol.

I got pulled sitting at a red light so I pulled into the closest hotel. Cops come up and say...
"Sorry sir we couldn't see the registration throught your windows we just wanted to make sure it wasn't stolen since the tags didn't come up."

I give them my lisence, pink slip, insurance and temp registration paper I had. The two officers go back to the car and come back like 2 minutes later when the training officer says... "Ask him about his lisence plate." So the officer I was talking to asked what was on my plate and I told him it was my backup camera. Both cops go "WWHHHOOOAAA!" then hands back my lisence and says "Man....I wish I could afford a car that nice!" Lol this was about 4 days after I bought it.

- I've received several complements at various gas stations.
- I get told 'nice car' by just about everyone I meet who sees it for the first time.
- A valet told me 'nice car, its fast' thanks buddy.

my favorites are often unspoken. once i was cruising on the highway and this trio comes up on me... a 911 turbo, aston martin, and lotus elise. They just paced me, then as each car slowly passed every one of them was just staring at my car as they drove by. that felt incredibly cool.

But what I love the most is when someone stops next to me at a stop light and I happen to look at them and they are completely just staring the car down...
