About to drop car - want to make sure I don't rub

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
On Friday I am putting Pro-Kit springs on my S-line Ti with stock 18" wheels and tires. I am also planning on putting 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers on. Chris at USP in Coral Springs says it will not rub and I trust his opinion as an Audi & VW tuner. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this setup and find out if you had experienced any issues with rubbing or otherwise. I do have 4 people in the car at times if that makes a difference.

I'm still on stock suspension, so I don't know from experience, but I've read that a drop with 15mm rear spacers will rub occasionally. Expecially with weight in the car.

Re: About to drop car - want to make sure I don't rub

i got 19x8 all around lowered on stasis ss and im rubbing on 15mm spacers more than merrier but its probably because im on 235/35s. the tires rub the fender itself rather than rubbing on the inside of the fender wall. the reason i got 15mm to make sure that the brake calipers clear the rims spokes. i just got 10mm forge spacers today and about to put them on. 15s should be fine if youre running the stock wheel/tire setup. post pics... hehe. good luck!

Thanks for the help. I know several people that have had work done at USP with good results. Don't know much about Wolf but I don't venture into Miami for much except the airport. Getting RS4 rear sway today and Pro-kit and spacers on Friday. Once APR exhaust gets installed on 12/15 I'll post pics.

Re: About to drop car - want to make sure I don't rub

I rubbed with 15mm spacers and oem 18's, no passengers. I bought some 10mm for a steal and am happy. 12mm may work. FYI I am currently 25in ground-to-fender in the rear.

Your post is not helpful unless you state your offsets before spacers so he (or someone else) can use it to help calculate his own

    Just a tip.

And you should be fine with 10mmF & 15mmR on stock Ti.
Stance wont be super flush but it'll be good.
Might rub with 5ppl. Worse to worse cut the front wheel tab, and cut the rear fender liner, maybe even some negative camber, gives you more clearance.
I posted a thread about it, look it up under my history for more info

Most of the time (but not all) the two people in the back will weigh 44 pounds and 75 pounds (4 year old and seven year old). so there is not much weight there.
When you say it won't be super flush do you mean it will still be under the fender a little? If so, I don't mind. I don't think I would want it to stick out proud of the fender.

Re: About to drop car - want to make sure I don't rub

No. It will be slighty tucker in under the fender, dont even worry about sticking out with those size of spacers
Stock Ti wheels are 18x8 et 43
With 10mm F and 15mm R you will be at
    Front: 18x8 et 33
    Rear: 18x8 et 28

My car has Front: 19x8.5 et30 Front Rear: 19x8.5 et 20 235/35/19 Tires all around
I cut rear fender liner, front tabs and have about -2.7 camber in the rear
It doesnt rub (even with 5 ppl) and is pretty low (credit card clearance)

(I am forgetting you tires, so what size were you thinking?)

I just want more AZer's rolling around with good stances.

I am going to leave the stock tires on for now and may replace with same size F1's or PS2's when they need it.

I dont think that will rub ( Not low enough ), but 10mm spacers make my rears rub bad.

No, what size are they? 225/40/18? I forgot stock specs

Either way you're probably wanna gonna go with a 35 for a more low profile tire look

Got the spacers and springs installed today. The prokit is the perfect drop for me. Does not rub and the spacers look great. I will post some pics when I get the APR exhaust and the OSIR mirrors installed in 10 days.
