    Winter tire pressure

Sorry if it is a dumb question but... I was wondering if I still follow the manufacturer recomended tire pressure if my winter tires are not the same size. Summer 245 18 40, winter 215 16 55.
When I got the winter tires from the garage they had 30 lbs witch is mutch lower then the recomemded and I was wondering if it had anything to do with the size being different.

    Thanks

    Re: Winter tire pressure

yes, follow audi's recommendation. Tire pressures are also listed in the owner's manual for all the tire sizes, which should be 35 psi (cold)

    Re: Winter tire pressure

my local shop recommends a little lower psi in the winter too. the idea is that a little extra flex in the tire will help clear snow from treads.

obviously you give up a little fuel efficiency to do this.

i run audi recommended psi, then drop it during those fresh snow packed days.

Boy I feel ashamed, I had looked in the door but not in the owner's manual. Thanks for your time.
