    Raising Exhaust

I'm looking for the process of using zip ties to raise the height that the exhaust hangs. The exhaust mounts near the rear of my car are the rubber ones...are those the ones I have to somehow zip tie up? Very confused about where the zip ties go! Thanks for the help.

Put the zip ties wherever they help to raise the exhaust. There is no set place for them. Just make sure they aren't in a spot where they are going to melt.

    Re: Raising Exhaust

I'm not using zip ties to hold my exhaust up therefore I don't have pics. Just put them where the exhaust is hanging, it's not hard.

    Re: Raising Exhaust

this is the 1st of me hearing about this.

    But, if you must....

just jack up your car, grab a fistfull of HEAVY DUTY LONG zip ties, and go to town. Just FYI though, if you can't figure this out with some common sense, maybe you shouldn't get under the car.

Don't think anybody wants to be responsible for killing a guy who put the jackstand under the tire while trying to feenagle under the car to strap some zip ties on his exhaust.

Bottom line, as long as there is no mechanical or electrical hindrance, you can zip tie around it. Though like I said, this is the first i've heard of anybody doing this.

I didn't mean I don't work on my own cars I just wanted to know what part of the hanger I should route the ties on. Also I can't look under my car since I'm at school and I live in an apartment lol.

    Re: Raising Exhaust

    No problem.

You can still get jack stands and a jack.

Lift up the rear of your car and get in there, and start doing some damage.

I helped a buddy who was in college install his whole exhaust setup, including headers, in the middle of the parking lot. This was while he was living in an apartment as well.

Yeah I brought them. this guy couldn't find the oil dipstick with two hands, a flashlight, and Jack Bauer holding a gun to his head.

Suffice to say, all you need are Jack, jack stands, and zip ties.
