Does anyone know a good LEGIT means of getting loans??

Besides going to the Bank?? Or a co-signer?

Looking for something relatively low interest (below 7%). On $25,000?

Any help would be awesome.

If you own a house, you can borrow against the loan. interest will be what ever your loan is at.

For example, My house is worth 150,000 market value. My loan is approx 70,000 on it. I could get the difference of 80% of the total as a loan at 4.81% which is my mortgage rate.

1 phone call and i have a 50,000$ cheque in my hand.

However that either increses my mortgage payments OR the duration (turns a 20 year mortgage into a 25 year or what ever)

credit unions are more willing to loan you money than banks, I would check them out, Envision helped me out once or twice.
BMO is a useless POS in my experiance, friends have said Scotiabank is good for loans.

When i was looking for a car loan for my audi it took them 2 weeks to come up with "no" because they never returned phone calls and that was after being "hooked up" with a friends "really good banker"

My mutual funds with them sucked (consistently losing money), I can't do anything at the bank without an appointment if they don't "overbook" themselves, and they love to hold money for 5 business days whenever they can.

One time i had a check from scotiabank and they said it would take 5 days to clear, well, i didn't have 5 days, so i asked if going to the scotiabank and getting it certified would be ok, and they said absolutely not, who knows why. Luckily Scotiabank was nice enough to cash the check for me and i had to go back to BMO to deposit the money in a brick of 20's

I unfortunately don't have the title to an expensive car because all my cars are in my mother’s name for insurance purposes.

I do not own a house yet either, simply because I am still getting my Masters and have no $$$.

I’ll try the credit unions and Scotia for sure though.

If anyone else has an idea… Perhaps, know some venture capitalists who want to lend out some money?? Let me know.

You might try Scotia Professional Plan - since you are getting a masters, they might offer your a line of credit and a gold Visa. It's their way of giving you a sample, then you are hooked and a lifelong customer.
