Stasis 4:1 diff and VAST stage 3 clutch impressions

Just got the car back from VAST after getting an aluminum flywheel, stage 3 clutch and stasis 4:1 bias differential installed. I must say that the car has much much more traction everywhere with this diff. It's just easier to drive hard. The roads have been very snowy here in Michigan and you can feel the diff working it's magic. Today it dried up some but the roads were all salty with little traction. I decided to take a turn very hard around 40 mph and the car was just so planted and I could tell that it was more rear biased as it turned more sharply and with more ease...this car just feels different now, in a good way of course. I was a little skeptical if I really needed this diff to help improve the car for the track but I'm glad I got it as it feels as if I have some unfair advantage now. Of course the true test will be at Grattan, Gingerman and Mid ohio raceways.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the work performed by VAST and I'm pretty lucky to have known Mike for apprx 8 years now, he's a great guy and after all these years he still gets excited talking about the B5 platform.

that is honestly a very inspiring story, and helps me carve in stone that i've gotta do the 4:1 mod. But hows driving with the light weight flywheel; what does it weigh?

fidanza 12.5lb flywheel and it drives great. I had this same setup in my old 2000 imola S4 so I'm used to it. I don't experience any chatter which is strange and matching revs is so much easier on the downshifts.

Revhard, thanks for all the kind words about the work we performed on the car. I forget to tell you that you need to do at least 500 city miles on the clutch for break in, but you know that already. If you need anything don't hesitate to call or email. Thanks, Prince

Yeah I know about the break in as Mike already told me to run atleast a tank of gas through it before doing 7k dumps

Other than the LWFW I have the same set-up and must say I still love it, especially combined with the JHM shifter and linkages. I will say the 4:1 makes it a little more hairy in deep snow though (I go up north a lot so get into the deeper stuff more often). Good luck on the break in, I know its hard to do but definitely important.
