    Soundproofing the little diesel

I was watching the SEMA show on Discovery HD theater the other day and I saw this guy from Duramat or something like this presenting his soundproofing this Hot Rod. He said those materials would also absorb vibrations.

I was wondering if you know of a product I could use to soundproof the engine bay - I hate the roughness of the 2.0T engine - especially at idle.

You want to put dynamat in your engine bay? Don't you want to hear the engine? It's really not that loud, just a bit tappy.

I don't think lining your engine bay with dynamat is a viable solution though. Have you looked at a 3.2?

There are too types of noises: one is the engine-exhaust noise - which I love.
Believe me - I rev the engine on my Z4 just for pure pleasure when I am sitting at a stop light.
And there is rough engine noise because of the FSI. My car is a 2005.5 and that is one of the worst in term of idle engine noise.
I dont dig that - Audi which claims are a forerunner in technology could have done better.
If I can mute some of that noise - why not?

Dynamat has a hood liner. I think I will give it a try:
