    OMG, go eat a pistol!

what mods do you have now?

you will need the following before even considering a BT:

    FMIC
    clutch
    exhaust

brakes/suspension are optional but needed with the upgraded power
and all the little shit like TIP, shifter, test pipe/hfc, boost gauge, coilpacks, fresh TB if you are getting up in mileage

    Re: big turbo question

You can wait on the clutch until it goes. Depending on how you drive and if you are original owner, you can get by with stock cltuch for a little bit. I'm at about 10k on stock clutch still. But I'm original owner, always rev match, and rarely balls-to-the-wall launch. That will all change after this winter.

    Re: big turbo question

A clutch is not a necessity but you will not be capable of squeezing all the performance out of your setup without one. I am at 3500 miles on my GTRS and still using the stock clutch. I'm only at 65k and I don't launch so I will replace it when it decides to go. To answer your question you should go with an eliminator setup, a lot of bang for your buck and relatively straight forward install should you decide to do it yourself. Check out Eurocodes Ultimate solution and do your research.

    550cc injectors with harness
    ATP manifold
neuspeed tip with GTRS option from eurocode
    Forge 007p DV
    Evolution Ravewerks Competition FMIC
Coilover suspension with rear sway bar
Upgraded rotors, calipers, pads, and brake lines

...not to mention the software tuning to go with your turbo

All of these upgrades are mandatory to do a properly safe BT upgrade.

I think a bunch of people use 440s with it and have no trouble, but there's been multiple 550 vs 440 discussions. Pretty much just get the 550s.

Your splitter should be fine. www.eurocodetuning.com for a pretty much complete GTRS setup with injectors included.

You don't NEED to get a 007p, almost any aftermarket DV will do. I personally would shy away from a BOV. Our cars are meant for DV's so why change it to a BOV?

    Re: big turbo question

get the 550 or 640 becuase if you plan on runnning more than 23psi the 550 will be running in the 90% range of there duty cycle which could spell disaster for you and your motor and they are all within 100 dollars of each other so dont be cheap. that is the best advice i can give you.
2.0 stroker, built aeb head, T3/TO4E t-61 BB F162 .63AR turbonetics turbo, front mount, open down pipe. Port and polished intake manifold. 800cc injectors.

the GTRS kit will do you fine - since you've already got unitronic i vote that you go ahead and get 630cc injectors.

get some IE rods if you want to run high boost daily and you're going to beat the shit out of your car.

meaning drive it hard. (like i do mine) wan't implying anything about the install - just afterwards. if you're going to drive it hard on high boost you might pop a rod... just fair warning. plently of people run that kit and have no issues.

but i was the first person to run it with a unitronic 630 file and i did have issues. so i'm giving you the benefit of my experience NOW when it could save you a few thousand bucks. a set of rods is cheap to buy, cheap to install, and cheap insurance when you think about it... then you're free to crank it past 24psi if you please and beat the piss out of it day in and day out. (mine lasted about 2 weeks under those conditions with the stock rod... search my created threads for pictures of what happened)

listen to B6lovin . . . i also decided i am going with a gt71r in the spring/early summer.. im just working on getting my car cosmeticlly how i want it now and get EVERY supporting mod i want before i upgrade from my k04... so after my front bumper is shaved/carbon fiber boser is painted nd clear bra and then faces on my wheels painted... im doing labonte motorsports water/meth kit and EBC..this way when i get the gt71r all i hafta do is get the turbo, injectors, rods(might do pistons also), and i will be getting dyno tuned... i rather have the peace of mind that i can beat the car and not worry bout throwing rod

the eliminator turbos are designed to bolt up in the stock location, on the stock manifold, and retain as much of the stock setup as possible.... obviously that's not good for making power - but theoretically you could unbolt your ko3 and bolt one of those on and be good to go.

the kits come with a new higher flowing manifold, a new TIP, you can get an inlet adapter to make it 3" instead of the stock size flange that comes on the GTRS, they come with lines and install hardware also.

personally for you i'd recommend the "GTRS hardware kit only". if you want you can then order a velocity adapter and neuspeed TIP - but if you go with unitronic you could just get the velocity adapter and get a MAFless tune - and then you either make an intake like normal, or you just stick a filter on the end of your turbo and call it a day. oh, you'll also need the manifold... look for one used in the classifieds

Hypothetically, if I were to run a GT71r elim with Revo tune on my car, at what PSI would I start to think about getting rods?

I'm a TIP so I wasn't planning on pushing past 22 PSI or so.
