    Anyone cut their crossbars?

I'm putting together a Yakima rack and the bars give me about 3-4" that stick out past the tower on each side. Has anyone taken a saw and cut them off? I think it would look clean but I'm curious to see if there's any pictures out there.

I cut my thule bars to achieve the same result. Hack saw gets it done pretty quick. then the end caps made the bars look clean.

Dont have any close up pics and I have a sedan(but that makes no difference with this)
    Black and Silver...thats it

Looks like I'll give it a shot then. Bonus: I get to go buy a new tool.

cut mine down with a hacksaw. Took about 5 minutes and made a huge difference. Here are the only pics I have with the rack on.

The hacksaw may be the easy route, but, even though the chop saw takes more time (by the time you get it out, set it up, etc) if there is an opportunity to buy a tool (or at least justify the purchase to the spouse) you gotta go BIG.

Pics look good. I was trying to choose between a chop saw and a high powered laser/death ray (Like you said, go big.) but I was in a hurry so I just grabbed a pipe cutter.

My car's so dirty I'm embarrassed to post it right now. I'll take some pictures on Sunday if I don't go snowboarding. I wound up cutting the bars down to 44' but I'm probably going to take another 2" off.
