    Question HIDs causing fault codes????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, recently installed a Phillips ballast HID kit. Within one day of installation I was throwing up warning light left and right. Did a diag on the car, and it read that my ECS control module might be faulty. Since the codes only come on randomly when I turn the lights on, I'm not sure if I have a short somewhere and its giving me a false code or what. Anything help? Thanks in advance.

    Re: HIDs causing fault codes????

I had a similar issues, but it was causing my ABS light, Brake light, and ESP light to come on. It ended up being a bad ballast on the drivers side, it was causing a big voltage spike which in turn made my ABS not work when I turned the lights on. I replaced the ballast, and it all went away. I also cleaned up the ground on the firewall with a wire wheel and threw away the plastic pieice under it, whatever that does. Good luck.
