Hesitation, Surging, i dunno what to call it

Under WOT it feels like boost is cutting in and out.... it will feel gutless and then you can feel the car hold boost for a few seconds, and cut out again. I have a "lean in bank 1" CEL. I'm thinking that it is the vacuum lines because they are all look to be in rough shape. I replaced 2 coil packs recently, one because it failed and the other because it looked all brown and nasty. Plugs were done as well. no missfire CEL or flashing CEL when this happens. Any ideas?

If it is a misfire, VAG com can pull up an intermittent code even when the cluster does not grant a CEL. As for surging, what mods do you have? I would just assume you have a soft misfire that is not harsh enough to show up as a CEL. FWIW, I changed my plugs before and had misfires adfterwards. When I pulled the plugs, there seemed to be like this little gunk on the tip of the plug that looked like glue (but not adhesive, more like boogerish). And a very small amount (very tiny) is all it took to make my car misfire. I would look into taking out your plugs, and wiping them down good then reinstall (make sure they are gapped correctly). Maybe check for any any shorts in the wiring harness for your ignition coils. But if you have a VAG com, there wil be intermittent codes for whichever cylinder is misfiring.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

Clean and log your MAF. Replace all bad looking hoses, I think it's your MAF but hoses in rough shape should be replaced regardless.

no mis-fires showing up on vag-com. I replaced the vacuum lines with some generic ones from napa. They seem a little loose though. There were 3 sizes, the small one was too small and the large one was way to big. the middle one fit pretty well but didnt seem too snug, i put zip-ties on to tighten them up. Still having the problems. I logged my MAF and at 6700 RPM it was around 90 g/s. I head you can run without the MAF, can i do this to pin-point my problem

I had a Carbonio intake, took my car 2 the track and beat the fear of jesus into it for 8, 20 minute sessions. Plugged the MAF up and destroyed it beyond cleaning. Had 2 get a new one. The carbonio filter suxs, and so do some aftermarket. If they allow the dust and dirt 2 get sucked in or its not on and sealed fully that will do it.

alright, so i went out and bought the smaller vacuum lines and squeezed them on, cleaned my MAF with electronics cleaner and my car pulls like a mother bitch again. no stuttering, no choking up ect. The DV sounds louder and so does the turbo. Havent had a chance to log it yet but im pretty sure it is fixed. It was +8 or so today so that may have helped.
